A Full Detail is a thorough inside-and-out clean. The Ultimate adds the machine cut-and-polish — that's the step that actually corrects the paint, taking out swirls and dullness rather than just cleaning over them. The Ultimate is the one that makes paint look new again.
It's a big job — usually most of a day, because the cut-and-polish takes time to do properly. We'll give you a realistic time when you book, and it's often a drop-it-to-us job.
It removes swirls, light scratches and oxidation that sit in the clear coat. A scratch you can feel with a fingernail has gone deeper than that, so we'd be honest and tell you it won't fully disappear — though we can usually improve how it looks.
They do different jobs and often go together. The Ultimate corrects and cleans; the ceramic protects. If your paint needs bringing back and you want it to last, do the Ultimate and add a coat. If the paint's already good, you might just need the coating.
